InfoMuck does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your reading history and pipeline configurations remain private.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an InfoMuck account, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Organization affiliation (optional)
- Password (encrypted and not accessible by InfoMuck staff)
- Billing information (processed securely via Stripe)
1.2 Usage Data
To improve our service, we automatically collect:
- Pipeline configurations (topics, filters, delivery preferences)
- Briefing views and read times
- Search queries within the platform
- Device information and browser type
- IP address and access logs
1.3 Communications
If you contact support or sales, we retain:
- Email correspondence
- Support tickets and feedback
- Survey responses (when voluntary)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data exclusively to:
- Deliver the service: Generate briefings, send alerts, and fulfill pipeline subscriptions
- Improve accuracy: Refine AI models and source prioritization
- Provide support: Respond to technical issues and inquiries
- Prevent abuse: Detect unauthorized access and spam
- Billing: Process payments and send invoices
We do NOT: Use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share reading histories with anyone.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
3.1 Service Providers
We share limited data with trusted vendors:
- Stripe: Payment processing (billing info only)
- AWS: Infrastructure and data storage (encrypted)
- SendGrid: Email delivery (addresses only, not content preferences)
All vendors are contractually bound to protect your data and prohibited from using it for other purposes.
3.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by:
- Valid court order or subpoena
- National security request (with legal review)
- Prevention of fraud or harm
We will notify affected users unless legally prohibited.
3.3 No Sale of Data
InfoMuck has never sold user data and never will. Our business model is subscription-based, not advertising-driven.
4. Data Security
We protect your information through:
- Encryption: All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
- Access controls: Multi-factor authentication and role-based permissions
- Monitoring: 24/7 intrusion detection and automated threat response
- Audits: Annual third-party security assessments
While no system is 100% secure, we maintain security practices aligned with industry standards for sensitive data.
5. Your Rights & Choices
5.1 Access & Portability
You may request:
- Export of all your account data (JSON format)
- List of briefings you've viewed
- Copy of your pipeline configurations
5.2 Deletion
You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. All personal data is removed within 30 days, except:
- Billing records (retained 7 years for tax compliance)
- Anonymized usage statistics (cannot be linked back to you)
5.3 Communication Preferences
You control:
- Briefing delivery frequency (real-time, daily, weekly, or none)
- Product update emails (opt-out anytime)
- Marketing communications (opt-out during signup or later)
6. Cookies & Tracking
InfoMuck uses:
- Essential cookies: Session authentication (required for the service to work)
- Analytics: Privacy-focused analytics via Plausible (no personal identifiers)
We do NOT use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
7. Children's Privacy
InfoMuck is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.
8. International Users
InfoMuck operates from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and stored on US servers. By using InfoMuck, you consent to this transfer.
For EU users: We comply with GDPR principles, including data minimization, purpose limitation, and the right to erasure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect service changes or legal requirements. Material changes will be announced via:
- Email notification to active users
- Banner notice on the platform
- Updated "Last modified" date at the top of this page
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
